It's Wednesday again! Time for...
You Know You're a Mom When-sDaze.
Arizona Mamma, over at Our Daze in The Desert hosts this fun little meme.
In her words, she writes, "As parents, we constantly find ourselves saying things that we just can't quite believe came out of our mouths, or misting up over a few scribbles on a page, or finding ourselves in situations that could only be the result of having offspring.
*********************************************************************
I question whether or not it is wise for me to post this.
I understand that, upon seeing these photos, you may question my mothering skills.
I say this only because it seems I am finding myself in this situation quite frequently.
One would think that I might learn that this seems to be an issue in our family, and therefore, take the proper actions to avoid this scenario again.
And to my credit, I have officially learned my lesson.
Locks have been purchased and will be installed momentarily.
So, no more stalling.
I'm betting you have NO clue who made this mess.
And I bet that you can't guess where all of this water came from!
It's difficult, I know.
But humor me, take a guess!
Oh, what's that you say?
Why yes, the trail is leading to the bathroom!
Shocking!
As I gazed upon the wet floor, I clung to one hope only.
The hope that the toilet was flushed before it was so thoroughly emptied, cup by cup, onto the bathroom floor,
and then, subsequently into the hallway and living room.
But alas, the little pieces of wet toilet paper don't leave me hopeful.
Yes, you'd think I'd have learned my lesson.
When, only the week before we found our precious little "angel" here.
Yes, I am ashamed to admit that this was an entirely different occasion than the "event" displayed above.
In my defense, D-man was on "L-boy watch" when this unfortunate event occurred.
So, technically, I can't be held responsible.
I was only summoned to capture the scene on my camera.
Hi, my name is Julie.
And my child has a deep interest in all things "toilet"
This insatiable curiosity is becoming problematic.
So, I promise you this.
I will do my best to make sure this never happens again.
All of the necessary precautions are being taken.
And if it does happen again.....
You WON'T find it here on this blog!

Oh my Lord... what a mess!!! I guess I should enjoy little O inability to move for a little while longer when I have stuff like that to look forward to! :) Memories!!
OMG! I never expected that last couple photos! LOL!!!!!!!!!!
O gosh - they really are a match made in Heaven!!!! At the wedding - we will have to display the bathroom pics!!! This is too funny!
oh my!!! look at him standing in that toilet! how funny is that?? I would have totally grabbed the camera too! :) he will love that picture one day!! :)
hysterical, Julie! I love that you snapped a picture before yanking him out of the toilet. That's so me! HAHA!
Julie, that is classic!! Loved it! And I like how it doesn't even phase him after you come and take a few pics. Both of my girls would be scurrying to undo what they did as soon as I found them.
I bet the water cleanup was NOT fun!
That is hilarious!!! Of course, I can laugh at it since I don't have to clean it up! We keep our bathroom doors shut but I don't always remember and then my 2 year old little girl empties out all the cabinets. Every time I forget. Never fails. Isn't motherhood grand? Hang in there! ;)
Thankfully Colton has not gotten in the toilet as of yet. He does however like to flush the toilet. He waves and says bye-bye to the toilet paper as it goes down.
This is the greatest thing ever! His own private little porcelain pool! You need to migrate south! It's warm enough for my kids to play in the sprinkler!
Hee-hee! Hi Julie, I just found your blog and look what the post I saw! So cute. I have a similar story and I'm sure any more with more than 2 kids does!!!
Josie (my youngest - now 3 yrs old)was found eating toilet paper when she was a 1 yr old from said unflushed-potty only toilet....the horror!!! Some how she has survived! It was something that I shivered over for a long time though! Glad to see it happens to other people beside me.
Great fun to see you blogging!

hahahahaha...I was laughing because we used to have this same problem when my youngest was his age! Installing locks was the only thing that worked. If people are questioning your mothering skills, then they're questioning mine, too!
two words for you:
TOILET LOCKS!
LOL! (hug)
:=))
Reminds me of when my children were small..
That was HILARIOUS!! That is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.
First, because it needs to be said, I am green with envy over your beautiful floors...toilet water and all.
Second...I knew the trail was leading to the toilet...but for the life of me, I NEVER expected to see him standing in the toilet. I think I adore you even more for posting it.
Oh and P.S. Way to throw the old hubby under the bus!
Oh my goodness, that makes me thankful Paddy hasn't yet figured out how to raise the lid on the toilet! If he did though, I definitely would have had to snap a picture too!

oh my gosh I'm laughing so hard. I seriously hope this doesn't end up happening to me! :-o My gosh I can't imagine what I would have done if this was my toddler in the toilet.
Thanks for sharing.
You know what's great about this??! I can laugh at it because it's not happening to me!! I love how you took pictures of the entire path to the toilet. I'm so glad Tater never showed an interest in the toilet or I'm pretty sure this exact same scenario would be posted on my blog!
Ewwwwwwww!!!!!!!!
I was NOT expecting to see little man IN the toilet! Holy Wowwww!
Yack! I can only imagine what our 2 little ones would do if they ever got together!
Yikes!
OK, funniest thing I've seen in a lOOOONG time!!
Nice to meet ya!
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! Oh my gosh...that was good!
LMTO!!! (Laughing My Tail Off!!!)
That one of him in the toilet just has to take the year-in-pics!!!!!!
I play along with 5 Minutes for Mom's meme "Wordless Wednesday"...this is about as "wordless" as one can get!!! LOL!!!
Got busy with a 5K this weekend...and a host of end-of-school-year stuff early this week. Am behind on your posts!
Can't wait to catch up on the trip!!!
BTW, thx for the compliments on the new header! Only took until 4 a.m. one night and part of that next morning!
Am still trying to figure out a way to move the text over from the border...
HILARIOUS!! I really enjoyed this one.
I am also looking forward to the toilet obsession being over with. If I have to pull another toy out of the toilet so help me....!!!!
Oh, that is just TOO funny- I mean, the whole time, when you wer elike "I bet you can't guess where all the water came from" I DID think the toilet (because I'm a mom too, and my kids are always doing something with it.) but I did NOT expect to see a child IN the toilet. LOL. LOVELY. So funny.
I am laughing because this has happened at our house too!! We have a 2 year old who loves all things toilet as well. He likes to put thinks in them and take things out!!
Ok, I think that is the funniest picture (the one of him in the toilet) I think I have ever seen. I am having a CRAPPY (no pun intended) day and this post made me laugh out loud.
I don't think it reflects on your mothering skills at all. Kids are busy all of the time and we do the best we can. So so gross though. Why the toilet? :)
Luckily we haven't had this problem yet, but I am thinking that with the looming mobility of the twins, I may have to invest in some really good toilet locks.
Good luck!
Oh my goodness, I'm sorry, but that picture of L-Boy standing in the toilet is just too cute!! I guess he thought it was too!
Why do these things always happen when hubby is in charge??!!
Julie,
I'm trying to think of a nice way to say this, but nothing's coming to mind, so here it is: What the heck is wrong with your children? I have never seen such bathroom antics. It's a good thing that they were endowed with an extra measure of cuteness, because that kid in the toilet thing would have done me in.
So cute! What a picture
kim
That is fantastic! I love that you took pictures :) I would have too...My middle boy once flushed his toothbrush...and I had to fish it out! YUCK...but actually climbing in wow the things we see as Mom's. Oh the stories we have! great to meet you
Robyn
HAHAHAHA I am so sorry but I had to laugh through this whole thing. I can't believe he was at it again. Umm yeah, hope you got those locks on there. But seeing how much he likes this hobby I wouldn't be surprised if he figured the locks out. Just Sayin. :)
Oh funny funny! both my kids loved the toilet ~ esp. my son ~ constantly removing toys from the toilet! ;) This too shall pass ... until then laugh and take pictures!! he he!
Ahhhh! Oh my gosh, I would just die! LMAO
I'm wiping the tears from my eyes...I'm still laughing!!!
oh my goodness, i've seen kids splash in the toilet, but never have i seen full body toilet swimming...it is pretty cute though :)
