Before and After...Well, Hello!
My goal for this edit was to K.I.S.S.
For those who just went, "HUH"...it's Keep It Simple Stupid.
Or "Smarty pants" for those who were offended by the word "stupid"!
I think this is the perfect "Fall" flower.
Ah, I am the Makeup artist
and Photoshop is my cosmetic of choice.
It is truly the Bare Minerals of the photography world.
Truly! (I like that word)
My secret
1. cropped picture
2. Sharpened using High pass filter
2. ajustment layer>desaturate
3. black/white gradient adjustment layer> soft light> opacity to taste
4. Kim Klassen texture >Blending mode>Hard Light> opacity to taste
See...only FOUR steps...perfect for my K.I.S.S slogan.
And that makes me a definite "Smarty Pants"!!

I love it! I so wish we had a better PhotoShop. I think ours was the first invented! ha, this picture is beautiful!
Beautiful!!! I'd love to wrap a present in a print of this photo. Lovely!!
Gorgeous!
I wish I had the time/confidence to learn Photoshop. I mean, it sucks that I bought it and loaded it on a computer that promptly began dying.
And I just never got over it - and instead spend my time drooling over everyone else's skills! :)
Love this - I love how you've really turned this into a work of art!
Beautifully done! Thank you for listing the simple steps as well!!!

I LOVE it! Seriously, that is amazing! If that's your simple edit I would love to see you not so simple one. :)
Wow...it's so pretty! Really, it looks like it should be hanging on the wall. Love how you take a photo and turn it into an artwork!

AWESOME! You kill me. I would never think of doing any of that. I am so basic. I love it.
Love it!
I would totally take that print, frame it, and hang it on my wall. Seriously. It would go well in my office.
Ok I know you said keep it simple, but that looks pretty complex to me. I love how creative the second picture is, although you started out with a pretty perfect flower.
That looks AWESOME!!! Thanks for sharing your steps, too.
Gorgeous love the texture. You rock my friend! just looked at the D7000. Me want! Maybe when we get our tax money Woo hoo. okay, a premature celebration but one can dream.

Julie, Thank you for your kind comment! Wow! How have i never seen your blog?! I just read your 'about' page and it sounds like you wrote words right from my own heart. you were describing ME! not you! ;) what an adorable blog. Nice to "meet" you. :) as soon as I saw 4 kids and homeschooling, I knew I was hooked! I've always wanted 4 kids (well, actually 6, but I'm trying to compromise with my "2 kids" hubby! ha!) and I dream of homeschooling them. Hope you have a blessed week, XOXO, cat
