Mom n' Me Monday

mom n me jpeg

Mom n' Me Monday was created in an attempt to make myself get in the picture with my kiddos. When my kids are grown, I don't want to look through my photos only to find that I am not in any of them! So, I'm on a mission to "capture" these memories.
*******************************************************************************************

We've been having lots of Mom n' Me time as of late.
But, alas, I'm falling back into my old patterns and not making the effort to get in the picture.
We've been on this adventure for 4 days now.
I literally only have 2 pictures that prove I am here.
I really AM on this vacation.
I promise.
Starting tomorrow, I'm going to make the effort to throw the camera at D-man more often.
All that being said.
I will now share the two pictures that I do have.

This is the one and only picture of my children and me at the beautiful Zion National Park.
At this exact moment in time, we were surrounded by an East Indian family who was ooohing and ahhing over the sheer size of our family.
And especially over that cute little blonde haired baby "girl".
It seems to me we have gotten that "stare" more on this trip then ever before.
You know, that "do you know how babies are made?" stare.
I don't feel like a family of six is all that big.
But it seems as if others do!
Oh well, at least they didn't see all of us file out of our motor home.
They probably would have felt sorry for us and offered us some food.
Oh wait, that has happened to us.
But that's a different story.

Last night we drove 45 minutes just to grace this lovely restaurant with our "big" family's presence.
D-man and I discovered On the Border during an Arizona long weekend get away a few years ago.
I think our feelings about this restaurant must have been truly nostalgic.
For some reason, it wasn't as good as we remembered it to be.
Of course, our previous visit had been sans children and without a care in the world.
Yep, I'm pretty sure that is why we enjoyed it so much!
But the warm, crispy tortilla chips were delightful.
And can I just change the subject for a minute?
When I was little, I remember many adults telling me how "big" my eyes were.
I simply took it as a compliment.
But, after looking at this picture, I am beginning to wonder whether or not it was a compliment.
Yeah, now that I think about it...I don't ever remember "pretty" coupled with "big".
Just more along the lines of, "What BIG eyes you have, my dear!"
Oh well...they is what they is!
And look, C-boy has the same "issue"!

You have such a *big* beautiful family :) I don't think 4 is all that big - although some days I find 1 to be too much to handle, so how you manage 4 is beyond me?!
Have a great day!!

Lol large family sometimes get weird looks. We used to have 12 passenger institutional looking van and lots of car seats. We used to get those looks a lot! Hehe fun times :)

Hand off that camera today. Looks like you guys are having a lot fun and making memories!

Same thing happens to my brother with his son who has long hair. And we are letting Tater's hair grow out, so I'm sure it'll happen to us, too! I love this idea, and I should probably start doing this meme. I have close to zero pics with the kids.

Well, I for one, happen to love your eyes. There are worse things than having big eyes! I am always self conscious that mine are too small.

neat idea, I do not get into the pic nearly enough, mostly because no one will ever pick up the camera and snap a pic of me. Most of mine are self portraits so off centered and goofy but I love em.

So when my in-laws first met me, all they could talk about were my huge eyes! They are Chinese and called me quarter eyes. I have no clue why me because they had seen plenty of white people living here in AMerica but I guess I had huge eyes to them! LOL

Many years ago we had an "On The Border" in my hometown and I remember loving the chips as well..and that's about all I remember of it :) I am looking at the picture of L-Boy in the right margin as I write this and I must say he is the CUTEST little man. :) I have to remind myself to every be in any of the photos at events where I am and I am sure it will only get worse when I have kiddos! Thank you for the reminder that they would probably like to see what mommy looked like when they were little and that she was an active participant! :)

My husband is always telling me how people would stare when his family of 6 would be out and about. It is just nuts to me! I look because I am jealous! ha ha

I am working on baby number three though! YAY, for me!

Matthew and I have went to many places that were just so good only to be sad that it wasn't the same. :( I think some moments are just meant to be.

What a great pictures. You do have big, bueatiful eyes! I can only wish!

I laughed when you said L-Boy was mistaken for a girl! My Ben gets that all the time! Like dressing him in boys clothes is not enough these days!

Isn't it amazing how easy it is to forget to be in front of the camera? These are great though. I think it is so funny that people thought you had a huge family. I mean it is a good sized family, but you were in Utah, land of big families. Glad you are having fun!

lMBO @ the "eyes" comment!
We say that about Sugar, mySamuelson AND Miss Gracie ALL the time! Sugar likes to gloat that they have his eyes. he preens like our Rhode Island Red Rooster when someone mentions their large eyes. Wonder if he's ever noticed that "pretty", "attractive", beguiling" etc. have never been attached to it! LMBO again!
Have to start joining in this GREAT meme of yours!
That is if I can remember to give another the camera!!!! ;)

It sounds like you are having a lovely vacation! When we got back from ours, I was going through pictures and realized I am only in two of them. So sad! I always forget to hand the camera to someone else!
