Snow day Shreddin'!!

12 inches of new snow + no school + hyper children = a backyard full of gnarly shred heads!!
snowday1

In one totally trippendicular move, J-boy collides with the very sickly apple tree.
Between the deer and the children, I'm afraid that this poor apple tree will never experience it's full potential.
In fact, I think it's time to say our goodbyes now.

Can you spy the backseat driver?
snowday3

Yep, these two are a dangerous duo.
snowday4

Speaking of dangerous... my photo taking abilities in snow.
Null.and.void.

Here's the "Mac Daddy" tearing up our hill.
snowday7

He pretty much rocks I tell ya.
He's out there, in the balmy 10 degree air, having a grand old time.
Yes, I happen to be standing on our back deck.
It was necessary for me to stay inside and "tend the fire" and prepare the hot chocolate.
Only so that the children would be toasty warm upon re-entry.
snowday6

This little peanut refuses to be left behind.
Have I mentioned he's 2 going on 8!!
Phrases like "That's Awesoooome", "Suh-weet" and  "Oh Yeah, Baby" are some of his favorites.
His kindly, and not overly cautious father even allowed him to try S-girl's snowboard at one point.
I cringed and covered my eyes.
He's getting way too big for his britches.
Lboy sleds

And look who else is getting way to big for her britches!
Make it stop...please!!

so much fun!! I'm in Alabama right now and am counting down the minutes until I am home in the Northwest. Save me some snow!

Those trees in the backyard just take my breath away ... another sign that I must move in ;).

And the SNOW!!! Oh, the snow. We sure had our share this winter, but something about it looks so much prettier and fun from your views. Here, not so pretty or fun (ok - well - maybe a 'little' fun.)

Your photos inspire me regularly, my friend. So so glad to know you.

Looks like fun - from inside. ;) I can't believe how big your pup is already!

Lyle is so jealous. He skied every winter weekend from about age 5-18. Our snow out here is way too wet. It's fine by me though because lift tickets are not in our budget after having just bought SIX tickets to China and SEVEN tickets back home from China!

This looks like so much fun! I bet your kids are loving it! And that pup of yours, precious!
So funny that you're still getting snow. It's plum spring-y here. It's been in the upper 70s all weekend.

Love the photos! L-Boy is so adorable in his toque and helmet! How wonderful to have that hill right by your house. I'm with you, I would be inside making the hot chocolate too!

What a great back yard! It makes me a little jealous. Our two feet of back yard isn't nearly that entertaining. They look like they had a blast!

How crazy is it that you had another dumping of snow and we had 80 plus degree weather? Looks like your family doesn't mind it one bit. Loads of fun! Your puppy is way too cute. Don't tell my family I said that. They are haunting me to get one and I won't budge. I just can't imagine yet another mouth to feed and take care of.... ;-)

Those pics are amazing and it is so crazy to see them because our spring flowers are blooming. What my kids wouldn't give for snow like that!

Just looking at the snow pictures makes me COLD! It's in the 80's here, which is sad actually. It just means that too soon it will be too hot to breathe.

I love how you say L boy is 2 going on 8! I know another one of those ;)

Your dog....could NOT be cuter.

Gah - I've been cooped in the house with two sick males for 4 days... I would much rather have enjoyed the snow with y'all! :)

Hey . . . was thinking of U today, and the little ones (who are probably BIG now!), and the puppy, and your cool pictures. Katie has a friend who was adopted from China, and she was asking questions about how she found her parents. I showed her your video of S-Girl, and Katie said, "Mommy . . . that's so beautiful . . ." How are U?
