We are alive, well, and have yet to be trampled by moose.

I'm not sure where the time has gone!
Many sweet emails have wandered into my inbox.
Some of you have wondered if I will ever "blog" again.
And today, I decided "Yes...I will blog again!"
And there you have it!

"Why?"...you might find yourself asking.
What has all of a sudden sparked my blogging urge?

Well, it is the possibility of my small children being trampled by large moose!
I find that quite blog worthy.

It wasn't long ago when I posted a "friendly neighbor email" from one of my...well... friendly neighbors.
In that email she warned about the possibility of a cougar attack on our property.
If your memory needs refreshing you can find that post HERE.

So, after receiving this most recent email...
I felt it was my duty to share with you.
You know...so that you could pray for us.

Something scary happened this morning. Marci  had one dog trampled by 2 moose on her front porch and then they went after her other dog who was tied up outside! Tyler had to chase them off their porch TWICE!! And there are 3-4 steps to get up on their railed porch. Who would have thought!

We have had visitors of the "moose" variety.
The possibility of a "trample fest" taking place has kind of thrown a damper on the "special-ness" of their visits!

This is the proof of the visitation just feet from of our front sidewalk.

Oh, by the way, since we are on the topic of "friendly neighbor" emails.
When browsing through my inbox to cut and paste the above note, I was unfortunately reminded of this one.
I'm thinking this is a tad more disturbing.
But I'll let you be the judge!

HOWDEE EVERYONE!!!
Before the holidays descend upon us, let's get together for another morning coffee/tea time.

I believe there will be updated information to share regarding the recent rash of burglaries in our area as well as the level-III sex offender who is now living very close to all of us. Please be sure to invite your neighbors to this get-together as it will probably be the last one before the holidays..

Signed,
Your Friendly Neighbor

Hmm...sounds like a cup full of  "glad tidings of comfort and joy" .
And in case you were wondering...I wasn't able to make it to that little "get together"!

Signed,
Annie Julie Get Your Gun!

p.s.  This is "for reals"!  I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried!

Speaking of burglaries.
We've had one of our own.
Here is the pre-burgled photo.

The aftermath!

The culprit?
Or... the only one unable to "conceal the evidence"!

And finally...if you enjoy The Peanut Gallery...would you be willing to give me a vote at Top Mommy blogs? It's the brown blinking button below with the little lady that is trying to juggle one too many things in the air!  It is just one click away. I might even move up in the rankings to number 278,987th!!
And I would give YOU all the credit!
However, do not let me force your hand in this.
Do only as your heart desires.
Truly, that's really all we can ask for here at the Peanut Gallery!

Ha! I'm crackin' up. That "friendly neighbor" is my mom isn't it? Way to freak people out mom :) By the way it's the last morning tea because y'all are going to be trampled by the moose! Welcome to life in the country. This is why I live in town.

wowzers...and here i'm worried about coyotes and stray pitbulls trying to muscle their way into my little makeshift chicken coop & hen house! but a cougar? scary.

moose? fughetta 'bout it!!! those beasts are meeee-ean! the stories in my family of those big old things are frightening (course that's what happens when family moves to the wilderness of alaska....well, even just moves to a "big city" in alaska, lol).

as for burglaries and level 3 offenders, yikes-o-rama!!!!!

I was so excited to see a new post from you! :)

Maybe you should have gone to that meeting...it looks like you might be harboring the burglar they are all looking for ;)

You are so funny Julie! Don't you just love getting those "friendly neighbor" emails? Our neighborhood sends out a newsletter every-so-often and they include the same burglary updates. I was going to say maybe I should move out into the woods like you, but I guess that problem is everywhere! :-)

I love the pic of your little burglar. Looks like he had a blast hijacking all those yummy goods.

Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Well, glad to know you're all doing well and haven't gotten trampled! Your neighbors seem like an interesting bunch. Of course, the most wild life we see in our area is a stray cat.

In due time, he'll get smart and be a better sneak.

I'm so sorry about the sex offender stuff! Dear God!!

Please tell me the dog trampled by the moose survived?!?!

I've missed your stories and photos so very much. Remember when I wanted to move in and just stand in your front window to look at the view? Well, the moose might actually force me to change my mind. The only moose I like is whipped with cream and chocolate, and from your photo - your moose is obviously not the whipped cream kind. ;)

p.s. I would be an awesome friendly neighbor, though ... and I promise my emails would be full of glad tidings! And maybe some wine.

Thinking of you!

Ok, I wanna meet this neighbor! I would totally give her some good gossip to write about. Gotta love life in the country!

Wow! Who woulda' thunk it? But really, I've heard that moose can be mean. Did you ever read the book "Hatchet?" It seems like there's a moose attack in there and the whole time the character is thinking, "I can't believe I'm being attacked by a moose!"

But in OUR neck of the woods, seriously in a place where Lyle hikes often, a man was killed by a mountain goat! Here I am freaked out about cougars and I need to be watching out for moose and goats!

Hey U! You've been gone, but I've been gone longer.... But hey, we both came back together almost to the day!!!!! That's too funny!
I've missed reading your posts and can't wait to catch up! :)

Marc would have his gun out if he lived at your place. Enjoy the view and don't get trampled!

Once upon a time I lived in a house where bear roamed in our back yard! I loved it... kinda... sometimes it creeped me out... what if... but frankly we only saw them when we were indoors! thank goodness!

that is a lovely party you missed... I don't understand!! why neighborhood associations have to be so weird and negative! lol!! we don't go to ours for many many reasons... downers... lots o downers... did I say that outloud?!!

LOVE your little thief!! man he take me back about 6 years!! ;)
those eyes... sweetness!!

There you are! Glad to hear you are doing well! Oh my! about the moose and too funny/cute about the gingerbread thief!

TheFitHousewife said...

Oh me goodness, you've got a lot going on in that little neighborhood of yours!

My solution, send the moose over to the sex-offender's house and let the trampling begin!

funny stuff! Love those moose!! how fun! Never happens in my neck of the woods (NC)!

:0) I've missed you Julie! I love the stories and pics!

Oh Julie, my Julie! You know I'll vote for you. Any day of the week and twice on Sunday...or something.

You have some interesting folk in your neck of the "literal" woods.

So...like I tell you all the time, I keep thinking about blogging, and that's about as far as I get. With the exception of the occasional post. Not sure I'll ever return to my former blogging glory.

Oh my... LOL! This makes my inbox seem rather dull. Stay safe!

Man, I've never seen a moose, so would be so excited if one showed up on my front porch. But then once it started trying to trample me, I'd probably change my mind.

And what an... interesting get together. If only you'd attended, you might have left with even more blogging material!

Welcome back my friend. Good gracious...I hope that you do own a gun. Sounds like you have a very active neighborhood. Hope the meeting goes well. Love the gingerbread house and of course the burglar :) CUTE

Yikes! Who knew life in the country could be so dangerous?! :) Hope the moose don't trample you all. Glad you are back to posting.

Wow! I thought we lived in the wild woods! Be careful out there!
And I think you'll play heck getting a conviction. Those big eyes are all the defense that kid needs!
I'm guarding our "village" until Christmas eve. It's starting to get a little picked over. The buzzards are circling!
Have a very Merry Christmas friend!
