Easter Adventures.

First of all, I am sorry about fizzling out on Mom n' Me Monday. I suppose failing to participate in my own "meme" is poor blog etiquette. I guess I officially have bad "blog" manners.
I knew the weekend was going to be jam packed with family fun times and with the finicky nature of my computer these days, I thought it best to bow out for this week. But, I have a few die hard bloggy friends who posted their Mom n' Me's anyway. I'm sure you'd like to take a peek!

Here is Carrie's at Live Learn and Love Together. It is just too sweet.
And Liz at A belle, a bean and a Chicago dog, posted two that were chock full of cuteness.
Victoria, over at Life with Little Logan has an adorable picture of her and her little sweety.
Heather at Traveling down the tracks of life with D&H has a great shot of her and her little man.

We had a weekend to remember.
D'man's brother and sister in law and their 3 lovely offspring, ventured down from the Great White North (Canada) for the long weekend.
I thought I'd post a few pictures of the Shin-dig!
Ten cousins.
How's that for excitement!
D-man's parents were unable to come.
These are for YOU, Mom.

easter tryptich Sorry, L-boy is mysteriously missing from all of the above pictures.
Have I mentioned, I love nap-time!

On Sunday evening, we ventured out, with the ten kids in tow, to a local church in town.
They put on an Easter walk-through called Journey to the Cross.
Members of the church were all dressed up and displaying different aspects of Jesus' life and ministry in different outdoor scenes.
It was unbelievable.
We were guided through by two sisters dressed as friends of Jesus.
What a beautiful depiction of Jesus' life, death and resurrection.
Wonderful for small eyes.
Things like Jesus' first miracle, healing of the blind and crippled, his betrayal, the last supper, in the garden, his death, and his resurrection were all portrayed.
There was a Golgotha scene which we felt like our children were old enough to view. (minus S-girl)
We entered a large blacked out tent and the Roman's were nailing Jesus to the cross.
They raised the cross.
The scene was vivid.
I was holding J-boy in my arms and he layed his head on my shoulder.
C-boy was standing at my side.
I glanced down at him just as he gazed up at me, pain and sadness filling his eyes.
I immediately choked up.
The Maker of the Universe, made a "curse" for us.
As we left that scene and walked to the empty tomb, I couldn't help but be filled with joy.
He died for us...but He didn't stay dead!
He AROSE!
What a beautiful scene.

Today, C-boy is talking about the event.
"I knew He died for us, but I didn't know it hurt Him that bad. It makes me not want to hurt Him ever again."

Well said, son.

This is one of my all time favorite song lyrics.
It was sung by Phil Keaggy.
The words are poignant.
If you'd like to listen, I've added the video at the end.

The Maker of the universe,
As Man for man was made a curse.
The claims of Law which He had made,
Unto the uttermost He paid.
His holy fingers made the bough,
Which grew the thorns that crowned His brow.
The nails that pierced His hands were mined
In secret places He designed.

He made the forest whence there sprung
The tree on which His body hung.
He died upon a cross of wood,
Yet made the hill on which it stood.
The sky that darkened o'er His head,
By Him above the earth was spread.
The sun that hid from Him it's face
By His decree was poised in space.

The spear which spilled His precious blood
Was tempered in the fires of God.
The grave in which His form was laid
Was hewn in rocks His hands had made.

The throne on which He now appears
Was His for everlasting years.
But a new glory crowns His brow
And every knee to Him shall bow.

So glad you guys had a good Easter! Our area has a walk-through play of the last days of Christ, and you are right ... what a moving visual for our kids!

Oooh! C-Boy is so sweet and touching.

Happy to see Buck made the photo collage. :) And now I'm feeling guilty! You didn't HAVE to post today, we'll forgive you.

But maybe you should take it as a compliment??? Before we headed out on Saturday, I thought to myself how I should have Craig snap a shot so I could participate. THAT'S how top-of-mind your hop was!

Haha - I thought as I was posting...early this morning, "Julie will have hers up soon..." HAHA! Please do not feel like you have too, it was a joy to have a picture with my daughter to post this week.

It sounds like you had a beautiful Easter Sunday. I am sure it is such a blessing to hear your children begin to understand Christ. Amazing.

Oh my gosh, this is so beautiful! I hate to admit it, but I have been a Christian all my life and believe with all my heart, but it took watching movies & shows that really depict it for me to "get it"...he's so fortunate to see this at a young age!
