Burnout!

On the homeschool front, that is.

Here at the Peanut Gallery, I like to give you a snap shot of our days.
So here it is.
We are experiencing some serious spring break withdrawals.
Yes, I suppose we should be re-invigorated.
Sadly, that is not the case.
C-boy started to cry in bed last night.
When I asked him why, he said, "He missed spring break and his cousins."
Then I started to cry and said, "I miss spring break, and my craft table."
Not really.
But I was crying on the inside.
I'm not sure what it is, but every year, at this time, it seems to hit us.
I wake up each morning, not sure if I have one ounce of "teacher" left in my body.
All of my creativity has trickled out my left ear.
I begin contemplating a 5 month summer break.

And then reality sinks in.
And she ain't pretty.
49 days of school left, not counting weekends.

It's enough to make a grown man cry.
Look away if you must.
Shield the eyes of any small children in the room.
But I always say, a picture is worth a 1000 words.
So I will stop with the words. Right.Now.

You are a supermom, I would have been feeling that way approximately 134 days ago. Spring fever is hard on everyone...maybe you could bring the duck in, he could be your little mascot. :) Good luck Mama!
By the way, love the pictures!

Love the photos. I remember feeling the same way about school at this time of year. All the kids want to do is be outside enjoying the nice weather! Hopefully you can find some inspiration to motivate everyone...easier said than done I suppose!

Spring Fever is everywhere. I know my kids are not gonna want to get up for school after break either.

Well, I think you are awesome. I couldn't handle homeschooling for 1 week. :)

Oh dear, I know it's challenging, but you can do it! Good for you for being so devoted to your kids.

BTW, I love the pic of your son...he looks mischievious!

Love it! Holidays just go too fast! Sunday night will bring tears at our house! Mostly me! I detest being on a schedule!

And there she is...reduced to a shadow of her former self as she curls up in a ball to suck her thumb.

I have to ask, who did you get to take the picture?

I laughed out loud at you crying and saying you miss spring break and your craft table. Could you imagine if you really had done that?

You're hilarious, my friend.

Is there space for one more on your carpet???
I'll bring my own pillow!
:-)

We are just going into winter, and with South Africa hosting the world cup, our children will have a 7 week holiday this year, in the middle of winter...I'm scared!!!

So think of me while you are counting down the days till spring break and freedom...I'm counting down the days till HELL!!!
*Laughing!*

We are SOOOOO with you!!!! The summer counting has begun in our house too! Everyday we say, "I think I can, I think I can". :) We always plan a big weekend trip usually to Disney (we live in Orlando) or to the coast to celebrate a good year and this gives them (and me) an incentive to keep pressing on. But, yes, I too can't wait for unlimited crafting hours :)

Oh mercy, that's tragic. This is why I never went into education (or, rather, why I'm glad I got out of it before I started).

I will be able to relate to you next year Julie, we are entering the homeschooling world in the fall! Excited and a little nervous too.
And no, I don't want your duck although he is cuter then my pigs!! :)
